The project has the characteristic to be shaped from the website : its shape, its spaces and its realisation are the result of a confrontation between the past and the future in term of emergence of new energy to Halles. Its architectural principles can be summarised as follows: a reorganisation of the site. The current development
left on a diagonal between the Fontaine des Innocents and the Saint Eustache Church gave way to a new configuration. The urban constituted by the Exchange, the garden and the canopy is unified by an orientation of the space according to an East / West axis East.
Metropolitan dimension. Canopy is only the visible part of an urban 500m long underground in major part. The station lies in the basement to the Seine. Enlarged and simplified Chatelet -les- Halles station and exchange platform form a unit.
